There are a few "rules" about accepting the award... acknowledge the person who awarded me, list 7 things people don't know about me and select a certain number of blogs to pass the award to. But the rules didn't say anything about how I am supposed to accomplish those two things... so I am going to do it mmyyyyy waayyyy (imagine Frank Sinatra here)!
The first thing you probably don't know because I've never talked about it on my blog is that I have a thing for glass! Oh, do I love me some pretty glass... wine glasses, water glasses, bar glasses- you get where I'm going with this.
The first thing you probably don't know because I've never talked about it on my blog is that I have a thing for glass! Oh, do I love me some pretty glass... wine glasses, water glasses, bar glasses- you get where I'm going with this.
The second thing you don't know about me, because I have been afraid to say this out loud, is that I am going to homeschool my boys next year. Yikes! Really though, I am super excited about it. I have been studying curriculum like mad and have found so many great, great programs, and I know it will be hard to choose between them.
Okay, last one of the day.
The third thing about me, which I may have shared before on this blog, is that I am a cookbook/food magazine junkie. The problem with my cookbook collection is that I don't use it! At least not often enough. So, I'd like to go ahead and commit to choosing one cookbook/magazine a month and preparing one dish a week from it, which of course I will post here to share with all of you:)
Now, as for passing on the Stylish Blog Award to others... I have really thought about this and have decided that I would like to give the award to three of my earliest and sweetest bloggy friends. These ladies have emailed me when the posts are far and few between, just to make sure everything was ok, and they are always encouraging. The first round of Stylish Blogger Awards goes to:
- Sherri B. @ Little House in Paradise - A fellow chickeneer and gardener who hosts lovely giveaways in her own personal style.
- Pogonip @ Meadowsweet Cottage- Another chicken wrangler and gardener (I'm detecting a theme here:) who always has a kind word on her blog and a kind comment on mine.
- Sunny @ Sunny's Life In Rehab- A wannabe chicken lady (she lives vicariously through mine:) who is always good for a chuckle as she rebuilds her vintage Florida home that she affectionately calls Chateau Flambeau because of a destructive house fire a couple of years ago.
If you stop by for a visit tell them Heather at My Everyday Graces says hello.
Thanks for stopping by!

I thank you for this award and feel honored that my humble blog would ever be, even remotely, considered stylish.
I will be traveling today so may not get to post on this for a few days, as when I get in, I also, will be putting on my chicken muck boots to catch up on the coop and run duty.
Love all of your glasses and see many of the cookbooks in my collection too...great minds DO think alike.

That really is an impressive cookbook collection! I remember seeing it on Sherri's giveaway once and feeling a bit dwarfed! Good thinking on your personal cooking challenge!
Best of luck with home schooling Heather, I'm hearing that more and more families are doing it! I'm with you on using the cookbooks/magazines! I've been thinking about that challenge for myself... Something like, make a recipe from the magazine within two weeks of receiving it. I think the time line would help nudge me along. Happy Valentine's Weekend:@)
Awww What a lovely award - kind of like a pay it forward concept. Sweet! And I agree, quite the cookbook collection you have - I am green with envy. I adore cookbooks, but like you, I have a hard time employing them. Good luck and I can't wait to see some of your foodie photos!
What a great idea about the cookbooks, Heather! I used to have quite a few, too, but have been winnowing the past few years as I found I just didn't use them very often.
And you know I love your blog, so the award did not surprise me. :-)

Congrats on the award, Heather. I know that I am always happier when I found you have posted. It is like a phone call from a friend.
Well congratulations on your award, and thank you for mine! I see we have a little something else in common- my glassware collection is expansive too! I loved looking at all of your glimmering goods.
Mine, are of course, in storage.
Awww, what a nice surprise on my Friday evening to find you chose me (stylish in my barn coat and chicken muck shoes). Love you, Heather!
Congratulations! Better late than never... but, thanks for listing me on your list of Oregon Blogs!
Congratulations on your award - clearly well deserved. And don't despair. I homeschooled both of mine for many years without killing them or having them kill me. :)
Oh my, look at all those cookbooks! You are a lucky duck! That would be such a great idea to make a commitment to try a new recipe a week from your stash! I'd look forward to that!
You've got quite a cookbook collection! :)
I also have a thing for glass. I LOVE IT. ALL.
Congratulations on the award and hurray for the second thing! It's a big step, I know, but you will absolutely never regret it. I know I didn't.
Heather - Congrats of the award! I love your idea of the cookbook post. Looking at your pictures we have so many of the same lovely cookbooks -all full of recipes that need to be tried!
Hi Heather, congrats on the award.
The hardest decision in homeschooling may be deciding what curriculum to buy. Praying helps a lot. I hope you enjoy the adventure.
