The cure: Dramatic wallpaper, tumbled stone counter, new bronze faucet and white sink, new mirror, a little bling for the cabinets and a little spray paint!
I didn't get a photo of the mirror, formica or the brass light fixture (bad blogger, shame on me:)
The formica was vanilla cream color and the old brass light fixture is now spray painted bronze.
I didn't care for the oak cabinets and at one point thought about painting them, but when it all came together the oak kind of disappeared for me. I bought some pretty little crystal knobs and was completely sold.
Switched out all fixtures for pretty oil rubbed bronze ones. Commissioned some art from my personal artist, aka school painting by my son.
I love, love this faucet! I was worried about dripping, dirty, soapy hands (I have two boys) reaching across the tile for soap, but then I found this great bathroom faucet that has a soap dispenser included, much like a kitchen faucet. Eureka!
A cozy guest bath that feels more like a furnished room is what I was after, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Thanks for stopping by!

If I could do it it would have already been done! However....I take what help I can get...which in the form of my beloved husband!
I am deciding about the wallpaper and I really like the one you chose!
That turned out very nice. We are thinking of wallpaper and a new faucet, paint for sure in our main bath at the Vancouver house. After seeing how yours turned out it might be sooner than planned.
Have a great week.

I love the little box for the towels. It's the little details that make it complete. Wonderful job.

Probably a good thing that you choose that time. I am sure you had a deadline and didn't have time to second guess yourself. Great job, thanks for sharing. Ginger
Beautiful room! I love the wall covering and the mirror. You were right not to paint the cabinets because they work well with the colors and decor you have now.

Wonderful transformation!! Where O where did you find the fawcett with soap dispenser instead of the hot and cold knobs! Our house came with what some designer thought cool idea of putting BOTH the hot and cold handles to one side of the center water spigot. The size of hot and cold handles sold now do NOT work and our old ones are atrocious. What you have in your photo would very likely work! Since there is no handle atop the soap dispenser. Love to know where to get this gem and who makes it. Thanks!
Beautiful bathroom. Love your make-over of it. Well done.
A couple of questions answered...
The wallpaper is from Sandpiper Studios- CF1000
The faucet is discontinued:( But! I found mine on ebay, new in the box- Pegasus Baron Single Control Lavatory Faucet. It is the only lavatory faucet I found with this set up and I love it.
Thank you all for the lovely and gracious comments; I am just tickled:)
Thanks so very much, Heather! :) Also for commenting on my woeful little blog, I really appreciate it. <3
I LOVE your bathroom makeover. Your mirror is fantastic! Your blog is clean and I am glad you don't have music playing on your page. Your page loaded quickly and I really like your header - did you make it yourself? I need to learn to do that.
I love the finished look! And that mirror is to die for. Thanks for linking up!
