re·veal /riˈvēl/
1. to make known; disclose; divulge: to reveal a secret.
2. to lay open to view; display; exhibit.

I have been looking forward to my new blog design for months.  Initially, I became so busy with my Etsy shop over November and December that I hardly had time to sleep, let alone think about blog changes.  And then, when everything slowed down, I became discouraged and unsure of how to proceed.  I kept thinking about content and design-  how did I want those two things to represent me?

I'm still not sure about the blog, but then I'm not perfectly clear on me either.

I guess that's the point… and that's this blog:  one day at a time, sharing the lovely things and small thoughts along the way.

Thank you Lynsey, at Shiny Magic, for creating such a pretty space for me to spend time in!

Le Jardin Potager

A bit of sun graced the sky this morning, which led me to think of the garden.  I have been carrying an image with me since the April 2012 edition of Country Living Magazine came out one year ago!  So, this morning I did some searching and found this to share here:

Can't you just see it now?  Beautiful, no?  Click on the picture to go to Country Living for the pdf of the complete garden plan.

Sneak Peak

Oh my!  I am still working on my new blog design and think it will be completed in the next week two.  I am so very excited to be working with Lynsey at ShinyMagic, who has been absolutely lovely!

Here is a little sneak peak of what we are working on!

Although they don't show up here, I think I must compose about three posts a day in my head!  However, if it isn't my lack of camera skills slowing me down it is life's quick pace, or even sometimes just the idea that what I'm thinking about isn't blog worthy.

I will continue to ponder the blog as the new design comes together.  And, because spring has come disguised in heavy grey clouds and mud puddles, I don't feel too guilty about working at the computer so much!

Easter Tags

Just a little something I have been working on in the sewing studio~
These name tags will be going on Easter baskets this year... what a great idea!

If you like these tags please check out Everyday Graces on Facebook.  I'll be having a giveaway as soon as I have 30 "likes".

In other news, I have been busy with admissions season at school.  I very much enjoy meeting all of the families that come through our doors.

My new sewing machine has finally arrived!  The anticipation had almost put me over the top, but I held on and all is right in my world (for the moment:).

My sense of style still needs a little help.  I'm hoping to work on that in the near future.

Lacrosse is in full swing with 6 practices a week between the boys and then games too!

As always... too many pots on the stove!  But I suppose I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you for stopping in!

Personal Style- How to find it

Some may call it a moment of crazy, but I told my boys' school that I wanted to volunteer more!

Yep, I walked right into the headmaster's office and said, "I'm all in.  I want to tell people what is so great about your school, and I want to help grow it in any way that I'm able... How can I help?"  And you know what?  Maybe he had a moment of crazy too, because I now have an official job  a volunteer position  an official, job-like volunteer position.

So what does this have to do with personal style?  Stick with me, I'm getting there...

Among other things, this means that I am on campus in an official sort of way.  I have "office" hours and I meet with people... new people, inquiring about the school (and also high school students, but that's another part of my job-like volunteer position that I'll share some other time).  I guess you could say that I'm a small piece of the first impression.  And that's a bit of pressure, to be honest.

Part of the pressure stems from the fact that I have been a stay at home mom for 15 years... a jean and sweatshirt wearing mom, with the occasional corduroy pants, button down and sweater thrown in.  I'm not a fashionista!  I like fashion, and I'd like to think of myself as fairly stylish when I need to be... I don't wear mom jeans for Pete's sake!

said corduroys and button down

After looking through my clothing inventory, I've concluded that I need a little help, or maybe even a lot of help!  Enter Google, "what's my fashion style", and Real Simple Magazine's little online fashion style quiz.

According to RS this is the outfit for me...

For some reason, I'm just not seein' it!

So, my style quest has begun.  And yes, I know that it's what's on the inside that counts, and that fashion is probably considered by some to be a little frivolous, but I think it will be fun to explore what's out there and try to define my style.  If you have any tips let me know!

What's your style?

I suppose you could say I'm late to the party... I'd like to think of it as fashionably late.  I have just this week figured out how to use Instagram!

And I like it!

shelving in my kitchen nook- with a little winter sun
I hope to figure out how to get the widget? gadget? onto my sidebar in the next couple of days.

Also, had a bit of a hiccup on the new blog design but still working on it... hope to be up and running soon!
